Communications
The Communications Committee keeps ULI members up-to-date on current programs, initiatives, and member benefits.  They produce a quarterly e-news and sponsor a New Member Reception on a quarterly basis.  They also coordinate and regulate email communications with members.  Contact Cindy McSherry, Executive Director, 773-549-4972.

Education

The Education Committee has organized several initiatives that are now free-standing committees.  The Committee is currently exploring new short and long-term educational programs in collaboration with other organizations and educational institutions.

Infrastructure
The Infrastructure Committee is a new ULI Chicago initiative to educate decision makers on the importance of integrating infrastructure with land use planning, housing and sustainable development practices.  Our District Council will define a program of work that responds effectively to the specific infrastructure and land use challenges faced by our region, with the expectation that our efforts will provide models for better infrastructure decision making at the national level.

Membership
The Membership Committee encourages new memberships in ULI, introduces new members to the local District Council and provides membership opportunities at District Council events.  The Committee also tracks retention and coordinates occasional member surveys.  Contact Cindy McSherry, Executive Director, 773-549-4972.

The Preservation Compact
Chair:  Mary Vasys, Vasys Consulting Ltd
Guided by the Urban Land Institute and supported by The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, the Preservation Compact seeks to reverse the downward trend in Cook County’s affordable rental housing supply by 2020.  Contact Christine Kolb, Director of Community Outreach and Preservation Compact Coordinator, ULI Chicago, at 773-549-2655.

Programs
Chair:  Keith Largay
The Program Committee identifies topics and speakers for the monthly breakfast series as well as local panels for national topics of interest (emerging trends and infrastructure).  The Committee organizes around the issues impacting the real estate industry in order to develop timely and relevant programming.

Public Policy

The Public Policy Committee acts as a liaison with, and provides education to, public officials and other organizations on policy challenges facing the real estate industry.  The Committee's Technical Assistance Panel Program is a service offered by ULI Chicago as part of ULI's national Advisory Services Program. TAPs are 2-day sessions in which a local government or non-profit organization asks ULI Chicago to provide advice on a specific land use issue.

Sponsorship

The Sponsorship Committee encourages and promotes corporate sponsorships to help underwrite the cost of programming and events.  The Lifetime Achievement Award event is coordinated annually by this Committee.  They are also responsible for the yearly sponsorship campaign.

UrbanPlan

The UrbanPlan program is a realistic, classroom-based program for undergraduate and graduate students who form competitive development teams to respond to a "Request for Proposal" for the redevelopment of a mythical 5 1/2 block site. 

Young Leaders

Co-chair:  Ronan Remandaban, Lee & Associates
Young Leaders work to create a unique setting for the leaders of tomorrow's real estate related companies to interact, both professionally and socially, with the leaders of today, while providing responsible leadership and transferring knowledge in the use of land in order to enhance the total environment.
