Cook County Land Bank Receives Financing from The PrivateBank

July 24, 2014 – Chicago Tribune – The PrivateBank pledges $10 million to vacant home rehabs The PrivateBank is committing $10 million in financing to the Cook County Land Bank’s efforts to acquire and rehab distressed vacant homes and then sell them at cost to consumers. Cook County Land Bank Receives $6 million from Illinois Attorney General

July 17, 2013 – Today, Attorney General Lisa Madigan announced that the Cook County Land Bank Authority is the recipient of $6 million from Illinois’ portion of the national foreclosure settlement. Cook County Land Bank Authority Names Board of Directors

Cook County Blog, 2/6/13 – Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle announced today the members of the Cook County Land Bank Authority’s Board of Directors, which will oversee the work of the land bank’s efforts to return vacant properties to productive use. ULI Chicago A Force in Land Bank Formation

Cook County Land Bank Ordinance up for Approval

ULI Chicago released their Cook County Land Bank TAP report last month which has informed discussions around the proposed countywide land bank.  Panel member, Will Towns, The University of Chicago Office of Civic Engagement, provided expert testimony before the Cook County Finance Committee today on behalf of ULI Chicago referencing the TAP report recommendations.  After additional testimony from many supporters, the land bank ordinance was approved by the Committee and is now set to go before the Cook County Board for a vote tomorrow.
