February 18, 2015 – Groundbreaking on the Renovation/Redevelopment of the Historic Rosenwald Apartments The subject of a February 2010 technical assistance panel in cooperation with 3rd Ward Alderman Pat Dowell, the Rosenwald Apartments, originally opened in 1929 as safe and modern housing for a burgeoning African-American middle class, has been vacant since 2000. Pullman to be Named National Monument by President Obama

National Foreclosure Settlement to Help Move Pullman Neighborhood Forward

July 24, 2014 – WBEZ – Pullman to get an indoor sports facility Groundbreaking for an indoor sports facility in Chicago’s Pullman neighborhood will take place on Saturday. The vacant site, at 104th and Woodlawn, once was an auto auction site. The Pullman Community Center will be 135,000 sq. ft. with artificial turf for baseball, soccer and even lacrosse and rugby. Pullman Historic District One Step Closer to National Park Status

Over 50 ULI Fall Meeting attendees toured the Pullman Historic District yesterday and learned about ULI Chicago’s Pullman State Historic Site TAP conducted in October 2011 and the redevelopment recommendations proposed by the panel, including national park status. Mayor Says 600 Jobs Will Come with Pullman Development’s Retail Complex

March 23, 2013 – DNAinfo.Com Chicago –  Seeking to boost investment in the Pullman neighborhood and increase its historical value, Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced the start of the second phase of a $135 million development that has already brought a Walmart to the area. Emanuel said the $45 million project will create 600 jobs and bring a retail complex anchored by a Walmart between 103rd and 111th streets along the Bishop Ford Freeway on the former site of a steel mill. Salvation Army community center poised to open in the Pullman Community

June 1, 2012 – Crain’s Chicago Business – The Pullman TAP conducted by ULI Chicago uncovered an incredible amount of projects underway in and around the Pullman Community while studying development opportunities for the Pullman State Historic Site. The 160,000-square-foot Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in West Pullman is a great example of the layered financing and creative partnerships spurring development around Chicago’s south side.
