Village of Winnetka Completing ULI Panel Recommendations

ULI Chicago conducted two panels in 2013 in Winnetka addressing the Village’s commercial health, identifying retail opportunities, and outlining strategies for a stronger partnership between the Village, retailers and owners. One of the key recommendations of the panel process was to appoint an Economic Development Coordinator who could serve as a liaison for the local business community and work pro-actively to create a business-friendly environment in Winnetka. Winnetka Plan Commission/Zoning Board Discuss ULI Chicago TAP Recommendations

April 14, 2014 – Winnetka Talk – Plan commission, zoning board to look at Winnetka overlay district After reviewing several recommendations regarding the village’s retail overlay district, the Winnetka Village Council passed those recommendations to their lower boards for further discussion. The Urban Land Institute’s study of Winnetka’s overlay district was first given to Winnetka’s Business Community Development Commission in November.
