Garfield Park Conservatory
For more than a hundred years, the Garfield Park Conservatory, designed by the legendary landscape architect, Jens Jensen, has delighted visitors with more than 4.5 acres of naturalist landscapes under glass and open air. Recognized as one of the premier conservatories in the country, this West Side gem has an added attraction this summer, solarise: a sea of all colors art installation by Luftwerk – Chicago artists Petra Bachmaier and Sean Gallero. Check out photographs from our visit, or better still, go yourself!
FUN FACT: While you are there, be sure to stop by for a tasty bite at Inspiration Kitchens located just around the corner at 3504 W. Lake Street. One of our inaugural 2012 ULI Chicago Vision Awards Winners, Inspiration Kitchens is a social enterprise restaurant that trains individuals struggling with homelessness and poverty and employs them in the food services industry.
