Winnetka Village Board reviews recommendations offered by ULI Chicago TAPs

August 13, 2013 – Chicago Tribune – Winnetka studies its commercial districts
Significant changes to Winnetka’s three commercial business districts are among the recommendations included in an Urban Land Institute study recently presented to the village council.
The institute on Aug. 6 gave the second of two presentations to the council, including an assessment of Winnetka’s commercial health while also proposing a long-term commercial strategy for the village. August 9, 2013 – Winnetka Talk – Winnetka board ponders business district study
After months of study Winnetka trustees received the final report of the Urban Land Institute Chicago’s review of the village’s three business districts.
Seeing a need for business revitalization in the village, the council authorized the study in August of 2012 to look at Winnetka’s three business districts: Indian Hill, East/West Elm and Hubbard Woods. The study included a shopper survey, outreach to stakeholders, interviews, a study area tour, a community-wide reception and focus groups. ULI’s final report was delivered at the Aug. 6 Village Council meeting as trustees debated what to do next. Read Full Article
