ULI Chicago to Conduct Technical Assistance Panel in Hanover Park, August 1-2, 2012

Progress on the Elgin-O’Hare Western Bypass

The Elgin O’Hare Western Bypass (EOWB) was identified as 1 of 22 Game Changing Infrastructure projects by the ULI Chicago Infrastructure Committee. ULI Chicago’s Infrastructure Committee found the $3.4 billion project, labeled a “Project of Regional and National Significance” by the latest federal transportation authorization bill, has the potential to substantially affect the land use in and around the corridor, simulating mixed-use development opportunities including retail, hotel, office, commercial, residential, and open spaces, and economic development benefits far beyond the project’s immediate impact area. Salvation Army community center poised to open in the Pullman Community

June 1, 2012 – Crain’s Chicago Business – The Pullman TAP conducted by ULI Chicago uncovered an incredible amount of projects underway in and around the Pullman Community while studying development opportunities for the Pullman State Historic Site. The 160,000-square-foot Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in West Pullman is a great example of the layered financing and creative partnerships spurring development around Chicago’s south side.
