Cook County Land Bank Receives Financing from The PrivateBank

July 24, 2014 – Chicago Tribune – The PrivateBank pledges $10 million to vacant home rehabs The PrivateBank is committing $10 million in financing to the Cook County Land Bank’s efforts to acquire and rehab distressed vacant homes and then sell them at cost to consumers. More Progress in the Pullman Neighborhood following ULI Chicago TAP

July 24, 2014 – WBEZ – Pullman to get an indoor sports facility Groundbreaking for an indoor sports facility in Chicago’s Pullman neighborhood will take place on Saturday. The vacant site, at 104th and Woodlawn, once was an auto auction site. The Pullman Community Center will be 135,000 sq. ft. with artificial turf for baseball, soccer and even lacrosse and rugby. ULI Chicago Panel Recommendations Moving Ahead in Joliet

ULI Chicago’s Joliet Correctional Center Redevelopment TAP took place in January 2012 and both ULI Chicago and TAP partner, Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP), have been tracking progress on recommendations outlined in the panel report.  In addition to the 1, 6, and 12 month follow ups regularly conducted by ULI Chicago, CMAP followed this project for an additional year to track continued progress. Young Leaders Gain Insights from Industry Icon, Gene Golub

On Thursday, July 10, forty-five young professionals gathered to meet and interact with Mr. Gene Golub, founder and Chairman of Golub & Company, at an informal and lively event which was part of the Leadership Series hosted by ULI Chicago Young Leaders. ULI Panel Report Moving Navy Pier Redevelopment Plans Forward

University of Chicago Arts Incubator is Catalyst for Change

On June 25th, ULI Chicago members toured one of Chicago’s newest cultural assets, the University of Chicago Arts Incubator, part of the University’s Arts + Public Life Initiative.
