City of Aurora & Aurora Housing Authority Looking for Housing Strategies
July 11, 2013
The City of Aurora and the Aurora Housing Authority (AHA) engaged ULI Chicago and the Metropolitan Planning Council (MPC) to conduct a two-day Technical Assistance Panel taking place July 11-12, 2013. The purpose of the panel is to determine the most appropriate use for the 13-acre Jericho Circle site owned by the AHA, as well as recommend other strategies for the City and AHA to pursue to create additional housing opportunities throughout the City of Aurora. The panel will also explore the impact of the foreclosure crisis on neighborhood stabilization and shifts in Aurora’s demographic composition over the past decade. Panel members toured the Jericho Circle site today to inform their discussions. Review the panel Scope of Work for City of Aurora & Aurora Housing Authority: Housing Strategies for the Future TAP
ULI Chicago will conduct several panels over the course of the next year with the assistance and expertise of the Metropolitan Planning Council. The two organizations bring complimentary skills to the TAP program. MPC will broaden the TAP program’s reach, strengthen ties to communities, and assist in providing greater support following the panel.
