New Report: 2024 Chicago Mid-Year Sentiment Report
ULI Chicago, in partnership with The Real Estate Center at DePaul University, has released The 2024 Chicago Mid-Year Sentiment Report.
ULI Chicago is proud to announce the 2024-25 Fellows for its two prestigious fellowship programs, designed to support the professional development of commercial real estate professionals.
Both Fellowship recipients receive a one-year Full membership to ULI, participation in a ULI National Product Council, attendance at ULI’s Fall and Spring Meetings, mentorship opportunities, and involvement in the Chicago District Council.
2024-2025 ULI Chicago Women’s Fellow:
Vera A. Halicki | Vice President – Asset Management | Beacon Capital Partners
Vera A. Halicki is a Vice President at Beacon Capital Partners’ Chicago Asset Management group. She is responsible for developing and executing leasing, capital, and operational plans for a CBD portfolio of office assets in addition to life science assets 1375 W. Fulton in Fulton Market (2024 TOBY® award winner from BOMA International for Life Science asset) and Hyde Park Labs in Chicago’s Hyde Park neighborhood.
Prior to joining Beacon, Vera was Vice President, Portfolio Management, for Ameritus where she worked as the head of asset management for office and industrial properties, and Equity Commonwealth, where she oversaw a national portfolio of CBD office and industrial assets as part of the asset management group. She has over 13 years of commercial real estate experience negotiating over 3M+ SF of leasing and assisting with $1B+ of transactions.
Vera received her Bachelor of Arts degree from McGill University and her Master of Science in Real Estate from Roosevelt University. Vera is an Illinois licensed real estate broker, member of Real Estate Finance Forum “REFF”, previous Goldie B. Wolfe Miller Women Leaders in Real Estate “Goldie Initiative” Scholar and an active member of ULI Chicago participating as a local Product Council member.
2024-2025 ULI Chicago Jeffrey Kahan Fellow:
Andrew Killian | Senior Associate | Syndicated Equities
Andrew is a Senior Associate at Syndicated Equities, assisting with sourcing, analyzing, and underwriting new deals, as well as procuring debt. Andrew spent 5 years in consulting and corporate strategy before switching into real estate, where he spent about a year performing valuations for a large industrial portfolio prior to joining Syndicated. He has his bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and his MBA from Chicago Booth. In his free time, Andrew enjoys exploring new neighborhoods, reading, cooking new recipes, and walking his dog.

The ULI Chicago Women’s Fellowship aims to empower women in the Chicago CRE industry by providing opportunities to build new connections, advance their careers, and deepen their engagement with ULI.
The Kahan Fellowship, founded in 2013 in memory of long-time ULI member Jeffrey Kahan, is dedicated to supporting ULI Chicago Young Leaders (members under 35) as they advance their careers in commercial real estate. This fellowship offers Young Leaders the chance to connect with experienced ULI members and build meaningful relationships to enhance and support their career growth.
