Eleven Winners Announced at Urban Land Institute Chicago’s 2017 Vision Awards & Two Global ULI Awards for Excellence Finalists
Winners recognized as visionary developments, programs, and leading young professionals in the land use and development fields
Chicago (June 6, 2017) Eleven winners were announced at the sixth annual Urban Land Institute Chicago Vision Awards on May 31, 2017 at Morgan MFG in Chicago. The Vision Awards honor projects and programs that use creative development practices, inventive partnerships or sharing of resources, imaginative problem solving, or visionary ideas contributing to the growth of vibrant communities. “The Vision Awards are designed to uncover the unique and creative programs and projects happening throughout the region that are helping to set a new standard for our industry,” said Gia Biagi, Studio Gang Architects, and co-chair of the Vision Awards.
The 2017 Vision Awards winners were named in the following categories: Project, Program, and Young Visionary. “This year our winners represent a broad spectrum from arts and culture to historic redevelopment to transformative retail. As a juror, that’s what makes the Vision Awards so interesting and engaging,” said Mary Ludgin, Heitman, and jury member for the Vision Awards.
Additionally, two Chicago projects have been selected as finalists for the Urban Land Institute’s 2017 Global Awards for Excellence, which is widely recognized as one of the land use industry’s most prestigious award programs. This year’s finalists include three located in Asia, two in Europe, and 20 in North America. The two Chicago projects include the Chicago Riverwalk and River Point.
