After many years as head of CIBC’s US Commercial Real Estate line of business, Karen Case has taken on a new role as Vice Chair, CIBC Bank USA, supporting the team in serving its commercial real estate client relationships across the country.
Ms. Case has spent her career in commercial real estate lending with notable Chicago institutions like First Chicago and LaSalle Bank. Equally important to her professional career is her unwavering commitment to supporting women in commercial real estate and more broadly the business community. The awards she has received are numerous and underscore her commitment – Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northern Indiana, CREW Chicago, The Goldie Initiative, JDRF Illinois, Chicago Architecture Center and many other organizations.
Ms. Case serves on a variety of boards including Rush University Medical Center, TimeLine Theatre, Community Investment Corporation, JDRF International (Director Emeritus) and the Harold E. Eisenberg Foundation.
Ms. Case earned her MBA from The University of Chicago and a BS in Business Administration from Washington University in St. Louis. She also attended The University of London and The American College in Paris.
A native of New York, Ms. Case lives in Chicago with her husband, Jay. They have three grown children and four grandchildren.
Ms. Case received the Lifetime Achievement Award on February 15, 2023.
