ULI Chicago Suburban Program Committee Focusing on Challenges and Opportunities in Suburban Markets
March 14, 2014
The ULI Chicago Suburban Program Committee hosted another program for industry professionals on March 11 with guest speaker Mark Eppli, Marquette University, who shared insights on whether suburban real estate is a value proposition in today’s market.
The Suburban Program Committee is committed to bringing ULI’s quality programming events to suburban locations to make them convenient for professionals that may not have the ability to regularly attend events in the City. In addition, the Committee is creating meaningful programs that focus on the challenges and opportunities associated with Suburban Real Estate. There are unique sets of trends and issues related to the suburban markets such as the new reality of the homebuilding market, the changing drivers behind suburban retail centers, and the evolution of municipal planning and incentive strategies to meet these new challenges and stay ahead of the next economic cycle.
ULI has the resources and the breadth of membership to create conversations that cross the barriers between residential, institutional, and commercial real estate markets, between public agencies and private developers, and between a diverse set of legal, planning, engineering, financial, and architectural professions. The resulting programs are dynamic and thought provoking. Read a written summary of March 11 program
The Committee has two more events planned for 2014 in June and September focused on suburban real estate trends. Programming is presented as an “end-of-day” event that allows for a relaxing networking environment with cocktails and appetizers following the presentation or panel of experts. Watch for details on upcoming events.
