Wabash Arts Corridor
Columbia College Chicago, in collaboration with the Wabash Arts Corridor, has brought together eighteen renowned international and local street artists this summer to transform Chicago’s South Loop neighborhood into a vibrant, open air art gallery.
With blank walls as their canvasses and the City as their backdrop, these street artists have designed twenty multi-story murals along Wabash Avenue between Roosevelt Road and Congress Parkway. Known as “Big Walls”, this unique public art installation is a great example of building community through art; not only do the murals tie together the scattered buildings of Columbia College with a distinctive urban campus vibe, but they help shape a culturally rich neighborhood that is attractive to visitors and residents alike.Check out our photos of Big Walls and be sure to share your own favorite public art installations using #rediscoverchicagoland.
