Bridget Gainer and CCLBA provide Panel Update to ULI Chicago Public Policy Committee
December 11, 2015
Cook County Commissioner, Bridget Gainer, and the Executive Director of the Cook County Land Bank Authority (CCLBA), Rob Rose, made a presentation on the Land Bank’s current initiatives and future plans at ULI Chicago’s public policy committee meeting on December 10, 2015.
A Technical Assistance Panel convened by ULI Chicago in October 2012 was instrumental in winning support for the creation of the Cook County Land Bank and helped define the framework for its structure and operations. The Commissioner and Rob reiterated that the ULI Chicago TAP recommendations continue to be at the core of the Land Bank’s mission and activities even as it recalibrates its strategies to respond to shifting market conditions and opportunities.
Now in its second year of operation, the CCLBA is well positioned to build on its initial successes, and expand its work in many more neighborhoods and communities across Cook County, returning foreclosed and vacant properties to productive use.
