Winnetka Debating Zoning Ordinance Amendments as a Result of ULI Chicago TAP

With Winnetka officials poised to amend a village zoning ordinance that could allow for taller buildings in the downtown commercial district, some local residents voiced concerns over how the changes might impact one developer’s potential plans. The project, at a site often referred to as the Fell Property, would sit at the corner of Lincoln Avenue and Elm Street. The Chicago-based company in charge, Stonestreet Partners, has had preliminary talks with village officials over a proposed mixed-use development there that would feature condominiums and retail space, said Michael D’Onofrio, Winnetka’s director of community development.
