ULI Chicago convened a panel of real estate experts to share their on-the-ground experience with the use of development incentives supporting economic growth. The ULI Chicago Development Dialogue was hosted by the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) as a learning and sharing opportunity for the Collaborative on Local Incentives, a cohort of municipal leaders participating in conversations around best practices for economic development incentives.
The ULI Chicago Development Dialogue discussions featured elements of successful public-private partnerships, an understanding the developer’s approach to pursuing redevelopment opportunities, site selection strategies employed by retailers and new businesses, and recent enhancements to business development incentive programs.

The CMAP Collaborative cohort was comprised of economic development directors from Brookfield, Buffalo Grove, Downers Grove, Elk Grove Village, Gurnee, Hoffman Estates, Lombard, Lemont, Mundelein, and Park Ridge, IL.
