ULI Chicago Members Provide Technical Assistance for the North Avenue District
December 11, 2018
This week ULI Chicago members are conducting a 2-day Technical Assistance Panel (TAP) in partnership with the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) to make recommendations for revitalizing North Avenue between Austin Boulevard and Harlem Avenue and present strategies to strengthen the corridor’s development potential. Alderman Taliaferro, 29th Ward, City of Chicago and the Village of Oak Park and The North Avenue District are the sponsors for this TAP.
The TAP will address the following questions posed by the sponsors:
- Which sites along the corridor offer key redevelopment opportunities? What are the highest and best uses for these site(s)?
- What type of transportation and streetscape improvements could enhance access, safety and overall development potential of the corridor?
- Funding strategies
- What are the opportunities for and challenges to creating a coordinated, cohesive North Avenue corridor given its inter-jurisdictional nature (Chicago to the north and Oak Park to the south)?
Thank you to our ULI members who are volunteering their time and expertise on the panel.
