FY18 ULI Chicago Jeffrey Kahan Fellows Announced

The ULI Foundation and ULI Chicago are pleased to announce the FY18 Jeffrey Kahan Fellows, Julie Heigel, Vice President, Pearlmark Real Estate and Brittani Sanders, Director, Multi-Family, CRG Real Estate Solutions.

The Fellows will participate as Full Members in ULI for the coming year as well as join a national Product Council at both the ULI Fall and Spring Meetings. In addition, they have been paired with a Council mentor who will act as a resource to expand their Council experience.

A jury of seven ULI members and associates of Jeffrey Kahan reviewed applications and interviewed qualified candidates. Since 2013, nine ULI Chicago young professionals have been named Fellows.  The Fellowship is offered on an annual basis.

Congratulations to our newest Fellows!

Julie Heigel is a Vice President of Pearlmark Real Estate, with responsibility for supporting the firm’s debt investment originations, as well as sourcing multifamily and commercial real estate investments in the Southeastern and Midwestern U.S.  Prior to joining Pearlmark in 2014, Ms. Heigel was a Financial Analyst with PNC Bank, where she completed commercial credit training and graduated from the Real Estate Banking Development Program.  Ms. Heigel earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Finance and a minor in Economics from The Ohio State University.

Brittani Sanders is a Director of Multi-Family Development with CRG Real Estate Solutions. Her primary responsibilities include sourcing ground-up multi-family development opportunities in high-growth markets throughout the U.S., capital raising and ultimately guiding and driving select Multi-Family projects from conception through completion. Brittani currently oversees four major developments representing over $250M in value.  Prior to CRG, Brittani served as Project Manager to the Project and Development Services Group at JLL where she focused on ground up mixed use developments, tenant fit outs and national retail rebranding efforts.  Brittani earned a Master of Science in Real Estate from Roosevelt University, where she was a Goldie Wolfe Miller Scholar. Prior to studying at Roosevelt, Brittani earned a B.Arch. from Howard University in Washington, DC. She also studied Architectural Design and Theory in Copenhagen, Denmark at the Danish Institute for Study Abroad. Brittani is a member of the ULI Chicago Product Council – Red Flight.

The Fellowship honors Jeffrey Kahan, a principal and director of the Investment Services group of Colliers International in Chicago, who passed away in June, 2012.  As an active member of ULI and a member of the IOPC – Blue Flight, Kahan deeply believed in the value of the relationships formed and information shared through ULI.  He was a passionate Chicagoan and wanted his life’s work to make a positive impact on the City.
