About the ULI Chicago Vision Awards

The ULI Chicago Vision Awards define the standard for real estate development in the Chicagoland area. The Vision Awards recognize the full development process – construction, economic viability, marketing, and management—as well as design – and promote best practices in development identifying projects and programs that exemplify the policy and practice areas that underpin ULI.

Award-winning projects and programs highlight creative development practices, inventive partnerships or sharing of resources, imaginative problem solving, or visionary ideas that have contributed to the growth of vibrant communities. The relative size of a program or project, whether square footage or total budget, is secondary to the innovative characteristics contributing to its success.

The Frontrunner Award recognizes outstanding young leaders in the land use and development fields. These younger professionals set the bar for career advancement, goal-setting, community service and a strong commitment to ULI’s principles of land use.

For decades, ULI has set the standard in recognizing outstanding real estate development projects, related programs, and visionaries in urban development.  ULI Americas Awards for Excellence defines the standard for real estate development practice worldwide and honors projects across the world in a single competition.

Numerous award-winning projects from Chicago have been honored over the years.  Since 1979, ULI’s Global Awards program is the centerpiece of ULI’s efforts to identify and promote best practices in all types of real estate development.
