Winnetka Park District in Support of ULI Chicago Panel Recommendation

September 23, 2013 – TribLocal Winnetka & Northfield – Study recommends Winnetka’s Hubbard Woods business district become a village gathering place
A recent study of Winnetka’s Hubbard Woods business district recommends re-casting the neighborhood park as a village “great lawn,” linking residents and visitors alike to a vibrant arts and design-themed shopping and dining destination. Officials said the idea was inspired by the energy and community spirit found at New York City’s Bryant Park.
As conducted by Chicago-area officials with the nonprofit organization Urban Land Institute, which promotes the responsible use of land for community development, the recommendations for the Hubbard Woods business district were greeted with enthusiasm this month by Winnetka Park District officials.
