Village Trustees Provide Direction on ULI Chicago TAP Recommendations for Winnetka

October 10, 2013 – Winnetka Talk – Trustees target ‘low hanging fruit’ at Winnetka planning meeting
After reviewing results of the Urban Land Institute’s study of Winnetka’s business districts, Village President Gene Greable asked trustees to provide direction on how to implement village improvements. At the Oct. 8 study session, Greable asked the council to identify preferred goals that could be completed in the short term while using future meetings to discuss long-term projects such as redevelopment of the post office site. Trustee Stuart McCrary targeted “low hanging fruit,” such as more lenient liquor license laws and opportunity for restaurants to have more outdoor seating. Read Full Article
